Overview
A Subscription user is used to grant access to a specific domain or all domains on a subscription. For example, a subscription user would be used to grant a Website Developer access to a single domain or by resellers to grant your clients access to their domains hosting.
Instructions
- Login into your VPS
- Go to Subscriptions on the left:
- Search for the correct domain/subscription you wish to add the subscription user to and click on it:
- Click on Users:
- Click Create User Account:
Creating User Account – General Information
- Enter in the name of the person who is going to use the account. If you dont have a name describe what the access is going to be used for. eg, Web Dev for a Website Developer.
- You want to enter the users email address into the External email address field.
- For user role, WebMaster will grant the assessability that would be needed.
- Access to subscriptions, this will show the domains under the subscription, if you have one domain leaving it as the default All is fine, if you have multiple you can change it to grant access to one of the domains:
Creating User Account – Plesk Preferences
- Set the username to something related to the user or what the access is going to be for.
- For the password you can click on Generate or enter your own. For you own password Plesk does have a minimum password secuirty requirement, details of which is shown untill the password is secure enough. It is Recommend to have your Password to be at the Strong level or above.
- If you created your own password make sure you have also entered it into the Confirm Password field:
- Click Ok. you have now created a Subscription user.
- Now the user is created you want to confim the it works/logs into with the desired access.
- As you are already logged into, you can log out, by clicking on Administrator then click Log out:
- Then Using the username and password for the newly created user login to confim they are working as expected.
