This support article demonstrates how to change or reset the password on an existing email account. For this example, the password for "" will be reset.


  1. Within the Control Panel, click on the "Mail" tab. 
  2. Click on the email account that is to have its password changed.
  3. Enter the new password in the "Password" field and re-enter it under "Confirm Password".
    The Plesk Control Panel offers a password generator to create good passwords. If you choose this option, just remember to click "Show" so you can see what the password is.

  4. Click "OK".

When an emails password is changed in Control Panel, the new password will need to be updated on all devices and computers that are accessing the email account. If this is not done, when attempting to retrieve email from those devices or computers you will receive an error message and mail will not be downloaded.
