How to set maximum email size in Plesk for a VPS

Overview

The following support article demonstrates how to set the message size of emails for a VPS. This is the limit set for both incoming and outgoing emails to the server.

Please be aware that many other email servers have fixed size limits and the changing of this value may not fix your problem.

Conetix highly recommends using an alternative to email for sending large files to avoid issues. 

Instructions

1. Once logged into Plesk, from the “Server Management” tab on the left, click on “Tools & Settings”.
   
2. Under “Mail” click on “Mail Server Settings”.
   
3. In the field for “Maximum message size” enter the value (in kilobytes) you require.
   

   Hint: 20MB = 20480KB, 50MB = 51200KB

4. Click “OK”.

You can now send and receive emails up to the new maximum message size.
