Overview

Microsoft Teams is a chat and collaboration application from Microsoft, which is constantly receiving updates and new features. While the app should auto-update, you can ensure you’re running the latest version by following the instructions below.

You can find out about the latest version and all of the new features in Teams and confirm the latest version on the Microsoft Teams App Versioning page.

Instructions

  1. Open Teams on your Desktop / Laptop.
  2. Go to the menu (three dots), then select About:

    Note: If the menu looks different, it may be that you’re using the Microsoft Teams for home use, which is different to the Microsoft 365 version. You want to use the version for Work or School.

  3. This will then display the version at the top:

    The latest version can be confirmed on the Microsoft Teams App Versioning page. It may be that your version is one behind the latest release, as the updates don’t all roll out at once.
  4. If your version is more than two versions old, you can follow the Microsoft guide for when Teams does not automatically update.
