This support article steps you through the process of making a copy of an existing database. This can be helpful when testing new software versions so that you don’t interfere with the live site and data.
- Once logged in to Plesk click on the “Websites & Domains” tab. Click on “Databases”:
- Click on the database that is to be copied:
- Click on Make a Copy:
- Give the database a meaning full name, preferably with the date included for future reference, then click OK:
- Under the databases list the copy that was just created is now listed.
