Every email sent around the world contains "header" information including sender, recipient, subject, sending time stamp, email transfer information. This can often be very useful in diagnosing an email issues, as it provides details of how an email was send and through what servers.
- In Outlook, click on the email for which you need the headers. Right click, and select “Message Options” in Outlook 2007 or “Options” in Outlook 2003.
- In the “Message Options” window that opens up, the headers can be found under “Internet Headers”. These details can be highlighted and copied.
- Click “Close”.
- Copy these details in an email and send it to containing the email issue you are experiencing.
