Overview
This support article describes how to update your IMAP/POP email account password on an iPhone.
Instructions
- Open the Settings App.

- Go to the Mail setting.

- Select Accounts.

- Select your existing mailbox.

- Select Account under IMAP.

- Enter the new password in Incoming Mail Server.

- Select SMTP under Outgoing Mail Server.

- Select your outgoing server under Primary Server.

- Enter the new password.

- Press Done to verify the new credentials in Outgoing.
- Back in the Incoming settings, press Done again to finish verification.
If you get a password wrong error again you need to do the following.
– Check your password is correct, you may be able to do this via your webmail.
– Reset password with your webhost and retry.
If your password is correct you will need to remove the account from your iphone and setup as a new account. Apple Mail App frequently has issues on updates and requires a re setup.
