If you’ve attempted to login to your Plesk based Virtual Private Server, and see the following error:

plesk license key is invalid

The error does not mean the license key is invalid but simply that the server has run very low on memory or server can not reach Plesk Key Administrator.

This is generally a sign that you need more memory for your VPS to ensure it’s stable and doesn’t affect the performance or reliability of the sites.

  1. If the error was temporary, you can click the “Retrieve Keys” to run through the process of checking the key:
    plesk license key is invalid
If this was successful, we recommend using the Plesk Repair Kit and the Plesk Advanced Monitoring to look for anomalies.
  2. You can also attempt to use the Plesk emergency repair tools to free up memory. To do this, add /repair to the end of your Plesk URL. For example:
You should then see the Free Up Memory button:
    plesk license key is invalid
  3. As a last resort, you can trigger a restart of your VPS either via the repair tools or via the Conetix Control Panel.
  4. Lastly, if you’re not sure of what the issue is or want one of our team to take a look, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will look into it for you.
