Overview
If your browser has come up with the following message "Reported Web Forgery" it may mean that the website or page you are attempting to browse to has been compromised. Your Internet web browser will display phishing (or “web forgery”) and malware warnings as a way of helping to protect users online. Whether you use Safari, Firefox, Chrome, or Internet Explorer, your browser regularly runs checks against a list of dangerous websites so that it can stay up to date with threats.
Websites are placed on these lists because they contain malware or because they attempt to impersonate a real website to steal your passwords, credit card numbers, or other sensitive information.
In some cases, a website may temporarily be added to this list because it was compromised. When the website is fixed, it will be removed from this list.
You can check your website using a number of Internet based web tools such as sucuri.net. If your site has been flagged for malware of phishing, Google have a Help Centre which contains information about why your site was listed, what to do about it and how to have it removed from the list once it's clean.
If your site is hosted with Conetix and it has been listed, please contact us so that we can assist with identifying why your site was listed and what you need to do next.
