Overview
This Support Article will take you through the steps on how to update/modify your Incoming and outgoing Host Name and Ports. This applies to Macs running macOS High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina – older versions of macOS are no longer supported.
Your mail server settings may need to be updated when you transfer your Web hosting to Conetix and/or subscribe to our Mail Relay enabled hosting plan.
Instructions
- Search for Mail in Spotlight Search, located in the top-right of the screen.
- Select Mail from the search results.
- To Begin Modifying your Current Email Account Settings, click Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Select your Current Email Account > Server Settings.
- We Want to update the Follow Sections.
- Under Incoming Mail Server (IMAP):
- Host Name
- Port
- Use SSL/TLS is Ticked
- Under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
- Host Name
- Port
- Use SSL/TLS is Ticked
- Under Incoming Mail Server (IMAP):
- Click Save at the bottom of the settings, and check that you can both Send and Receive emails without issue.
You have successfully changed the Host Name and Port Numbers for your Email Account in Mac Mail.
