.NET or dotnet is a versatile programming language that can be used to create web applications, in recent years many Content Management Systems (CMS) similar to WordPress have been created using .NET. This includes platforms such as Umbraco, DotNetNuke and Sitefinity CMS.

On our Windows Based shared hosting servers Conetix maintains the latest stable releases of .NET Framework and .NET. Security fixes and bug fixes are applied as they become available.

Advice

If you’re looking for .NET Core, this has been renamed to simply .NET.

Supported .NET versions:

  • .NET 6 (Long Term Release – support ending November 12, 2024)
  • .NET 7 (Short Term Release – support ending May 14, 2024)
  • .NET 8 (Latest)

Supported .NET Framework versions:

  • .NET Framework 4.8
  • .NET Framework 3.5.1 (long term release – support ending 9 January 2029)

If you don’t keep your website software up-to-date, it may cause issues as upgrades to our servers occur. As per our policy on Outdated CMS Software, it’s the client’s responsibility to ensure the software is kept up-to-date.

If you need to maintain using a specific version of .NET or want to control when upgrades occur, your site will need to be hosted on a Virtual Private Server.
