Billing Updates Designed to Give You More Notice and Flexibility

billing updates designed to give you more notice and flexibility

At Conetix, we are making some important updates to the way invoices, payment reminders and billing notifications are handled across our services.

These changes are designed to give clients more time to review upcoming renewals, manage subscriptions, update payment details, and make informed decisions before services renew.

Hosting and Subscription Invoice Timing

billing updates designed to give you more notice and flexibility

We are updating our billing cycle so that invoices are now generated 14 days before the subscription renewal date.

This change gives you more notice before your service renews, allowing additional time to:

  • Review the upcoming renewal
  • Update payment details if required
  • Raise any questions with our team
  • Make changes to your subscription before the renewal date

The actual subscription period does not change. This update only changes when the invoice is generated, giving you more time to review and manage your service before renewal.

As an additional safeguard, you will still have 14 days after the due date to make payment before any service suspension process applies. This helps ensure there is still a buffer in place for missed payments, expired cards, or unexpected delays.

Domain Renewal Invoice Changes

Domain renewal invoices have also been updated to provide more time and clearer notice.

Domain renewal invoices are now generated 30 days before invoice due date, with the invoice due date set 7 days before the domain expires.

This provides more time to decide whether you wish to renew the domain, cancel it, or make any required changes before the expiry date.

Domain names are time-sensitive, and once a domain expires it can impact your website, email and other connected services. The updated timing is designed to reduce the risk of accidental expiry while still giving you time to review whether the domain is still required.

Updated Credit Card Token System

We are also moving to a new eWAY tokenised credit card system.

This change provides improved handling of stored credit card details and adds additional features that support our PCI-DSS compliance requirements.

Tokenisation means your card details are securely handled by the payment provider, rather than being stored directly within our systems. This helps improve payment security while allowing recurring payments to continue to operate smoothly.

No Credit Card Surcharge

Conetix has never added a credit card surcharge to client payments.

The move to the updated eWAY token credit card system helps us continue to maintain this approach and avoid passing on credit card transaction charges to clients.

While payment processing costs continue to increase across the industry, we are working to ensure our systems remain efficient, secure and cost-effective.

Account Security Reminder

With billing and account access being such an important part of managing your services, this is also a good opportunity to remind all clients to review their account security.

Conetix provides two-factor authentication options, including:

  • Time-based authentication tokens
  • Email-based verification
  • SMS-based verification

As part of the new Australian SMS Sender ID requirements, we have also implemented SMS Sender ID for Conetix. SMS tokens sent from our systems will appear as either CONETIX or Conetix.

This helps make it easier to identify legitimate messages from Conetix when receiving account security or verification codes.

Use a Password Manager

We strongly recommend using a reputable password manager for your Conetix account and any other business-critical systems.

A password manager helps you:

  • Use strong, unique passwords
  • Avoid reusing passwords across multiple services
  • Securely share access where required
  • Reduce the risk of compromised credentials

Reusing passwords across different services is one of the most common ways accounts become compromised.

Never Share Passwords

You should never share your password with anyone, including staff, contractors, developers or support providers.

Where access is required, use proper user accounts, delegated access, or secure password-sharing tools where appropriate.

Conetix staff will never ask you to provide your account password.

Summary

These billing updates are designed to provide more notice, more flexibility and improved account security.

By generating invoices earlier, improving domain renewal timing, upgrading our credit card token system, and continuing to support secure account practices, we aim to make billing clearer and easier to manage for all clients.
