Overview

This support article will describe how to update WordPress Core version via Plesk WP Toolkit.

Warning

Before applying any updates create a backup of your WordPress Site.
If an issue arises after applying updates you can restore/revert easily with minimum disruption to your WordPress site.

Instructions

  1. Login into Plesk via the Conetix Control Panel:
  2. Once in Plesk access the WP Toolkit by Clicking on WordPress on the left-hand side of the screen:

  3. Next click on the down arrow to manage your WordPress site.

  4. Scroll down and click on updates.

  5. Tick the top checkbox to select WordPress Core and checkbox for Restore Point , then Update.

  6. Once completed, check Website to confirm no post update issues.

Advice

When you update to the next major WordPress Core version, typically there will be plugin updates available for the new version.
For this reason recommend to re-check for new available Plugin updates.
