Overview

There has been a recent wave of scam emails sent out from the DRM Australia organisation claiming a domain name requires payment for “Renewal notifications”.
Note: the listed Item is for “Renewal notifications” rather than an actual renewal of the domain’s registration.

They will generally include contact details pulled from your domain name’s registrant information and include links to an invoice they claim should be paid.

Note

These emails are FAKE and can simply be deleted.

Here’s part of what this email looks like:

Subject: Renewal notifications for: www.exampledomain.com.au

Message Body: Action needed: keep www.exampledomain.com.au renewal notification service active. Hi Your company name team, We are set to extend the domain renewal notification service for the domain below on 11/Aug/2026. To keep the service active without interruption, please complete payment now. Domain: www.exampledomain.com.au Renewal term: 1 years Amount due: 187.00 AUD Renewal date: 11/Aug/2026 Pay now: We accept Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. If you don’t wish to renew, please reply to this email to cancel at least 5 days before 11/Aug/2026; otherwise, we’ll assume you wish to continue. Please also review your details and reply if anything needs updating: Company name: Roof Clean Australia Address: Australia Email: admin@exampledomain.com.au Domain: www.exampledomain.com.au Questions? These emails are not legitimate or relevant to the actual domain registration. Please just DELETE this email as it’s a fake scam.

This type of domain renewal notification scam was previously sent by “DNRS Australia”. It looks like they have now updated the organisation name to continue sending these messages.
