Overview
The following support article demonstrates how to create a new FTP account in a subscription within Plesk.
Instructions
- Log into Plesk either via the Conetix Control Panel, or via your VPS login page.
- If you access Plesk from a VPS, click on “Domains” and then the domain for which you want to create a new FTP account. For this example we are using conetixtest.com.
If you access Plesk via your Conetix Control Panel, simply proceed to the next step instead.
- From the “Websites & Domains” tab, click on the “Dashboard” sub-tab of the domain you wish to create the FTP Account under, and then choose “FTP Access“.
- Click on “Add an FTP account“.
- Enter an FTP account name (the username), and enter a password in the “Password” and “Confirm Password” fields and click “OK“.
If you only want an FTP user to be able to access a certain directory, you can specify this in the “Home Directory” field.
Leaving the Home Directory with a “/” value will mean the user will have access all sites hosted under that subscription/hosting plan. - The new FTP account is now present in the list of FTP account.
- You can now access your web hosting file structure via an FTP client such as FileZilla, using the newly created FTP account.
