How to change a site URL in WordPress to “www”

Overview

This article outlines how to set the URL for a WordPress site to www.domain-name.com , instead of domain-name.com. This requires making changes to settings via your WordPress Admin and your hosting account. For this example we will be using conetixtest.com. 

Instructions

1. Login to WordPress, and then from the left side menu bar, click on Settings.
   
2. Update both the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) fields so that have the same information, to be formatted like the following:
   https://www.conetixtest.com
   Click Save to apply.
   
    
3. Log into the Website hosting for your domain and select the Websites and Domains tab, then click on Hosting Settings.
   
4. For the Preferred Domain  select the option WWW 
   
    
5. Click OK to save.
   Your site will now resolve to WWW by default.
