How to install Jetpack for WordPress

Overview

Jetpack is a WordPress plugin which contains a number of features such as backups, anti-spam, security, monitoring and more. Some of these features are available for free while others require a Jetpack subscription in order to use.

This article will take you through the process of installing and enabling the basics of the plugin.

Instructions

1. Login to your WordPress website as an administrator user.
2. Go to Plugins, then select Add New:
   
3. Search for Jetpack and install the plugin:
   
4. Activate the plugin, then select Set up Jetpack:
   
5. This will give you two options:
   1. Login to WordPress.com with a full Jetpack account (required for paid features and other options)
   2. Continue without signing in
6. If you have linked your account and simply want to get started, you can scroll down to find the Jetpack Free option:
   
7. The setup wizard will ask a number of questions and present options based on your website type and suggest options. You can select “Not Now” for all of these if you choose.
