Overview

This support article describes how to reset a MySQL (MariaDB) database password in a Plesk hosting subscription. This may be required when re-configuring or migrating websites, rotating passwords due to security requirements or as a preventative measure after a security issue with your website.

Instructions

  1. Firstly, login to the Conetix Admin Panel.
  2. Once on the home page, select the ‘Services’ tab:
    reset your database password
  1. Navigate and select the relevant service with the database that you need to reset and select ‘Manage Product’reset your database password
  2. Under ‘One Click Login’ select ‘Plesk’:
    reset your database password
  3. Select database on the left:
    reset your database password
  4. Select the database you would like to modify the password for by clicking on the primary user:
    database
  5. Generate or enter the new password for the database
    database
  6. Next click OK to save the password
    reset your database password
  7. You can now enter the new password in your files and applications.

Warning

Once the password has been updated it will need to be updated in all files and applications that are accessing the database. For example, WordPress based sites you’ll need to edit the wp-config.php to store the updated password.
