Overview

This article will step you through registering a new domain on behalf of your clients via your Conetix Account. The registration of a new domain on behalf of your client is a two step process which is outlined below.
1. Create a Contact
2. Register the domain with the newly created contact.

Prerequisite

Registered Conetix Client Account.
Company and ABN details for your clients domain registration.

Add A New Client

  1. Login to your Conetix account

If you don’t remember your Conetix Account password, you can reset it here

  1. Click your name in the top right corner.

  2. Click “Contacts”.

  3. You will then be prompted to add the new Clients details

Do not set the Contact Email Address to the Client’s email address this must be your own email.

  • Why should I not set the Registrant Domain Contact Email as the client email address?

    By setting it to your email the client does not receive any direct emails from the registrar or Conetix, this avoids confusion for your client.

  1. Do not tick any of the below boxes then click Save Changes

  2. You have now created a Client within your Conetix account.

Registering a Domain under your newly created Client’s details

  1. From within your Conetix account, click the Domains dropdown from the left-hand menu, then click Register a New Domain.

  2. Enter the domain name that you would like to register, and the system will check to confirm if it is available to be registered.

  3. If the domain name is available to be registered, select how many years you would like to register it for;

  4. If Required you will now be prompted to fill out the details that the domain will be registered under.
    • AU domains require an Active ABN or ACN, we will need you to fill these details in here.
      Then, choose the relevant Registrant ID Type, Business Number Type, and type of business/organisation that your ABN/ACN is registered under.

  5. To add your client’s contact details to the domain click the dropdown next to “Choose Contact” then select the client you have just created.

  6. Select your Payment Method

  7. If you require one of our Free DNS-only plans for the new domain please request this in the “ADDITIONAL NOTES” section and our team will set this up for you.

  8. Agree to the Terms and Conditions and click “Complete Order”
