Overview
In this article, you will be guided through setting up your emails on the Samsung Email Application. The Application is Installed on Samsung Phones by default.
Unfortunately, the Samsung Email app doesn’t keep up with the latest email settings used by other devices or applications so you will need to modify a few pre-filled settings.
Instructions
- Open the Samsung Email Application.
- Tap Other:
- Enter your Email Address and Password then tap Sign In, at the bottom of the page:
- Select IMAP or POP3 for your connection type:
Conetix recommends IMAP for mobile devices.
IMAP and POP Sever Settings
- You will now need to remove imap. or pop3. from the front of your domain name.
- Make sure the Security type is SSL.
- The Port Number will be automatically be either 993 for IMAP or 995 for POP.
- For the IMAP path prefix you don’t need to enter anything in here.
- For POP3 account set up you will get an option for Auto Delete from Server.
You can set this to Never or When deleted from Inbox, which one to set is up to you, however Conetix suggests Never as that will leave a copy of the emails on the server.
SMTP Server Settings
- Remove smtp. from the front of your domain name.
Starter Subscription clients should use their ISP server settings here. - Make sure the Security type is SSL here too.
- The outgoing server port should already be set to 465.
- Ensure Require authentication to send emails is enabled.
Once Done is should look similar to the below. - Tap Sign in. If successful you will now be taken to your Inbox.
Your email account is now set up in the Samsung Email App.
Depending on your internet connection it can take some time for emails to start appearing in the Inbox.
